HAWAIIAN FRANKS Recipe 1 tablespoon corn oil 1 pound frankfurters, cut in 1-inch pieces 1 medium green pepper, coarsely chopped 1 can (13 1/2 oz) pineapple chunks in heavy syrup 1/2 cup Karo dark corn syrup 3 tablespoons soy sauce 2 tablespoons white vinegar 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon dry-mustard 2 tablespoons corn starch 1/4 cup water 1 can (8 oz) water chest­nuts, drained, sliced In skillet heat corn oil over medium heat. Add frankfurters; cook 3 minutes or until lightly browned. Add pepper. Stir­ring constantly, cook about 2 minutes or until tender. Drain pineapple; reserve syrup. In small bowl stir together pine­apple syrup, corn syrup, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger and mus­tard. Add to skillet; bring to boil. Mix corn starch and water. Stir into mixture in skillet. Stirring constantly, bring to boil over medium heat and boil 1 minute. Add pineapple chunks and water chestnuts. Cook until heated. Makes 4 servings.
