FRANKS BUTTERMILK BISCITS FROM KY HERE ARE SOME REALLY GOOD AND QUICK BISCUITS SINGLE DOUBLE 1/2 CUP LARD OR SHORTENING 1 CUP 1 3/4 CUPS PLAIN ALL PURPOSE FLOUR 3 1/2 2 TEASPOONS OF BAKING POWDER 4 1/4 TEASPOON VBAKING SODA 1/2 ABOUT 3/4 TEASPOON SALT 1 1/2 3/4 CUP OF BUTTERMILK 1 1/2 MIX THE FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, BAKING SODA, AND SALT TOGETHER UNTIL THEY ARE VERY WELL MIXED. CUT IN THE LARD OR SHORTENING UNTIL IT LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE FINE CRUMBS. SLOWLY ADD THE BUTTERMILK. VERY GENTLY, NO MORE THAN ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. KNEAD UNTIL YOU HAVE THE DOUGH HOLDING TOGETHER. ROLL OUT TO ABOUT 1/2 TO 3/4 INCH THICK. BAKE IN A PREHEATED 450 OVEN UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. (ABOUT 8-10 MINUTES)
